I was accepted to IPAM’s Workshop Modeling Multi-Scale Collective Intelligences at Los Angeles, a 1-week-long satellite workshop, part of the long program Mathematics of Intelligences held at IPAM, that invited leading experts in the mathematical modeling of collective intelligence to develop the mathematical foundations necessary for transformational advances in understanding natural and artificial intelligences.

I participated in the Conference on Complex Systems 2024 (CCS24) held in Exeter from the 2nd to the 6th of September. I also had the opportunity to take part in the warm-up on the campus of my institution (Northeastern University) in London, UK from 30th to the 31th of August.

I participated in Hypergraphs: Theory and Application, a 4-week-long satellite programme, held at the Alan Turing Institute, that invited pure and applied mathematicians working at the forefront of hypergraph theory, applied topology and network science to interact with each other to further develop the foundations of hypergraph theory and applications across the sciences.

I joined the newly launched hub of the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University London as a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Giovanni Petri.

A new paper on “How social rewiring preferences bridge polarized communities” was accepted in Chaos, Solitons and Fractals. In this paper we studied how individual rewiring preferences bridge initially weakly connected communities and how likely it is for them to reach a consensus, in a context of complex information diffusion.

I discussed my Master Thesis with the title “Information Diffusion in Dynamic Networks”. The presentation was performed on the December 7 and I am now a graduate of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) with a Master of Science degree in Physics/Physics Engineering.
